Creative in Residence Program 2024

Are you a writer, designer or creative interested in getting involved with our Centre to spread the love of synthetic biology?

The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence in Synthetic Biology (CoESB) is looking to hire a Creative in Residence. We will provide an award or salary of up to A$25,000 for a one-year program or project. We may also fund an additional A$5,000 (at the Centre Director or COO’s discretion) for essential costs of the project such as travel, production, specialist materials or distribution, etc.

Under the Residency, your project must make significant contributions to the Centre’s strategic objectives through one or more of the following areas:

  • Research
  • Training and development
  • PR, marketing and media
  • Education and public engagement
  • Knowledge-sharing

We expect the Creative in Residence to promote the Residency, taking an active part in collaborating with Centre members and engaging with Centre research and non-research programs. This may include speaking at seminars, running workshops, attending and contributing to public events, being showcased in marketing and media material, participating in school outreach activities and contributing to the CoESB Annual Conference.
