Biography

Mary O'Malley is a journalist, filmmaker and media and communications consultant with extensive experience in the university and research sector. Mary has worked on newspapers, magazines and television documentaries for such broadcasters as Discovery's Travel Channel, ABC Australia, Channel 10 and Channel 7. She is a former Deputy Director of Communications and Director of Digital Communications at UNSW where she founded UNSWTV, an online channel which SBS voted among the top 5 science channels in the country in 2016. She is Manager Communications and Government Liaison for the ARC Centre of Excellence in Synthetic Biology.
